Sarah Alò writes comedy for humans who don’t hate women. Sarah is a creator, writer, producer, director & starring actor for MENACE, a dark comedy microseries on Instagram produced by Frutti Hat Films. The series was featured in a variety of publications, including Glamour, Forbes, Hello Giggles, Feministing, GirlTalkHQ, The Everygirl, and LA Screenwriter. Sarah spoke on Vocalo Radio about the series; she also spoke on a panel of screenwriters hosted by the International Screenwriter’s Association in Chicago in March 2018.
In 2016, Sarah wrote, directed & starred in her own original comedy sketch, Love at First Catcall, which premiered to a live audience at iO Chicago. She performed with The Runaways Lab Theatre Co in an original independent production, reviewed by Newcity magazine in 2015 in Chicago. Sarah studies acting at The Artistic Home. She also completed the Improvisational Comedy program in 2015 at The Second City Chicago. Sarah performs standup comedy and she also writes poetry.
Currently, Sarah works on her passion projects. Her book in development, I Wish I Had Cancer, is a collection of essays chronicling her battle as a young woman with chronic pain and chronic illness for more than a decade. Sarah’s web series in development, Chronic, is a dark comedy series based on her experiences being in pain and sick as fuck all the fucking time.
